South Grattan Street Sanitary Station Structural Inspection, Seattle Public Utilities
CivilTech performed a condition survey of the South Grattan Street Sanitary Lift Station located at the southeast corner of South Grattan Street and 55th Avenue South in Seattle. The lift station is comprised of three main features, the wet well, dry well, and concrete entry stairs. CivilTech’s tasks included mapping, measuring, recording, and photographing existing cracks and notable structural damage on the interior and exterior of the lift station. Minor pitting of the concrete surface and corrosion of steel members were observed in a few locations. CivilTech provided repair and replacement recommendations for affected members, taking into account SPU’s plans to replace steel grating with fiber glass grating within the lift station.
