Madison Valley Northwest Diversion, Seattle Public Utilities
CivilTech provided structural engineering services for the design of temporary shoring walls for the Madison Valley NW Diversion Project. Located in the Madison Valley neighborhood of Seattle, the main goal of this project was to reduce the potential for flooding during heavy storm events. The project involved the construction of a new storm water conveyance and storage system that will collect and convey storm water to a new 2.2 million gallon capacity storage system in Washington Park. CivilTech’s responsibilities included designing a tieback soldier pile wall system for temporary support of excavation in challenging soil conditions with unanticipated near surface refuse.
